-Meditation seems to be
dating back around 3,000
years
when it was first done
in India on a larger scale
probably together with some
religious influence.
Over time different forms
and techniques of meditation
were encountered, tried and
implemented. The target
was and is clear the purpose
of meditation is physical
and mental relaxation and to
gain a higher spiritual
consciousness within
themselves.
Here we will take a brief
look at the different forms,
practices, and religions
surrounding the idea of
meditation. Meditation
is practiced not only by the
Buddhist world but also by
Christianity, Hinduism,
Islam, Judaism, Jainism,
Taoism and so on, even new
sects such as Scientology
are using some kind of
meditation to milk their
followers of money .
It is also practiced by
other philosophies such as
New Age,
Sikhism and others. Although the basic idea
of meditation is quite
common with different
philosophies but the purpose
of meditation is very
different. Some people
meditate to clear the mind
of relative negative
thoughts that can affect a person’s way of life. In
other philosophies
individuals may meditate to
reach a state of psychic
consciousness.
Often we think to much
about sex, our jobs or other
parts of our life,
sometime meditation can
enlighten us to focus on the
real thing and don’t waste
time with all this little
blubblubs.
Here Buddhist meditation
comes in and some tracks
lead to some meditation
forms of Hinduism both
finally also can include
Yoga. This type of Buddhist
and
|
|
Hindu plus Ayurveda
meditation can include
various forms of Yoga
such as
Raja Yoga,
Bikram Yoga,
Hot Yoga,
Hatha Yoga,
Power Yoga
and various
other yoga
variants.
Many
meditation
forms are
using
different
relaxation
and
meditation
technique.
Sometimes a
mantra is
repeated
continuously
to block out
other
thought,
while in
other
meditation
ideas the
focus may be
on sound and
light. All
have the
same in
common, get
the inner
mind to a
different
state with
the final
goal of a
positive
feelings.
The idea
of Buddhist
meditation
is to allow
the mind to
transform
and to gain
some sort of
enlightenment
were you are
able to
focus on one
particular
thing; there
are
different
forms of
Buddhist
meditation
all with
their pro
and contra.
The best
would be to
go to a
Buddhist
monastery
for lets say
a month, get
your brain
cleared, it
takes a
couple days
and is not
as easy
since you
have to put
yourself
under the
rigid regime
of the
monastery.
The rules
wont be
subjects to
discussion
which is a
very
difficult
way for so
called
western
people, the
message is
take it or
leave it,
you only can
learn.
-For Buddhist
meditation you must
not visit a
Buddhist temple.
In fact physical, psychological, and spiritual benefits of
Buddhist meditation
you can get just right at
home.
Buddhist
meditation, technique is as follows:
- Sit or kneel
just to feel comfortable.
- Keep the hands loose with the palms up, one atop the other and
thumbs touching.
- Head is
upright. Eyes can be closed or open.
- Beginning
meditation count upwards to ten on each exhale. Then begin again at one and repeat,
continue to
breathe normally for about 20 minutes..
Sit in traditional
Buddhist meditation with your legs crossed. Your
eyes are closed or open and your posture is both straight and relaxed while your
head remains upright. Focus on your breath, ignore mental chatter. Emotions and
others will come, but again
ignore them. Keep focused on your breath,
the key thing
is focus your attention to breathing and continue, this can go on
for minutes or hours, it's up to you.

Buddhist
Meditation
is healthy,
safe and
affordable
way to get
your mind
put in
shape. It's
free because
there are
plenty of
texts out
there in the
internet to
tell you
what you
need to
know, the
only thing
to do for
you is read
it. The only
object you
better
invest into
is a
meditation
map which
wont put any
hazard to
your wallet.

Meditation
has been
around for
about 5,000
years as
a spiritual
component of
yoga. After
came
Buddhist
meditation
and with the
passing of
every
hundred
years or so
some new
techniques
of
meditation
come up.
Through the
years plenty
of people
adopted
Buddhist
meditation
intuitively
sensing the
great way to
achieve a
greater
peace of
mind. There
are plenty
of different
variants of
meditation
and yoga,
this goes
sometimes
together.
One of
them is
Transcendental
Meditation
and this is
not just
blab la,
about
Transcendental
Meditation
alone
(mantra
repetition)
there are
almost 1000
studies,
some are
serious,
some are
pffft.
Transcendental Meditation is another popular form of meditation maybe twice daily for about 20 minutes.
Yet in contrast to basic
Buddhist meditation the eyes stay closed and induce relaxation through a mantra.
There are
studies
indicated
that sleep
problems
improved and
smoking
decreased
via
Transcendental
Meditation.

feelings.
Another
version is
Mindfulness
Meditation
suggesting
to focus on
our breath
to
facilitate
awareness of
the present
moment, this
is a widely
studied
meditation
technique.
After
studying the
effects of
8-weeks of
mindfulness
meditation
on
participants,
a report in
the Journal
of
Psychosomatic
Medicine
concluded
that a short
program in
mindfulness
meditation
produces
demonstrable
positive
effects on
brain and
immune
function.
Another
study at
Taiwan in
the journal
Chang Gung
Medicine
reported
that
training in
Mindfulness
Meditation
may be a
medically
superior and
more cost
effective
alternative
to pain
medication
for the
control of
headaches
with no
underlying
organic
causes in
highly
motivated
patients. |
